California DTSC confirms Smoke Alarms are Universal Waste Electronic Devices

The California DTSC confirms to Curie Environmental Services that smoke alarms/detectors are considered Universal Waste Electronic Devices (UWED) due to the presence of the printed circuit board and cannot be disposed of in the trash.  For more information and a copy of the written correspondence between DTSC and Curie please contact us.
