Curie Services announces CuriePack(SM): Mail-Back Smoke Alarm Recycling Program
Curie Environmental Services announced today the introduction of CuriePacksm, a pioneering concept for mail-back programs designed to recycle smoke alarms/detectors. The CuriePacksm is typically a 5-gallon pail designed for smaller commercial interests and Household Hazardous Waste collection programs. California DTSC confirms Smoke Alarms are Universal Waste Electronic Devices
The California DTSC confirms to Curie Environmental Services that smoke alarms/detectors are considered Universal Waste Electronic Devices (UWED) due to the presence of the printed circuit board and cannot be disposed of in the trash.
